Boxed up Snowman

By: Janett Ray

Hi everyone were starting to warm up a bit here we should reach 48, I feel so bad for the people in New York that are getting so much snow. All this talk of snow had me thinking about snowmen.

I bought the Gift Box Punch Board by We are Memory Keepers at the first of the year and have not even tried it out. Well  Craft Horders Anonymous challenge this week is boxes so I thought I would give it a try. I made three boxes 8x8 start line M, diagonal M, 2  6x6, start line S, diagonal S, and 10x10 start line L, diagonal L. On the Large and Medium box I stamped the Large Filigree Snowflake   (by DRS designs) with white Color Box ink and clear glittered embossing powder. I could not get it to show up in any of the pitchers but it looks really nice. After stamping the boxes I scored and folded them. For the buttons on the large and medium boxes I used office supply brads that I heated and dipped in black sparkle embossing powder. I opened the boxes and poked holes for the brads then closed them up. The eyes and mouth are demensional stickers and the nose it a paper triangle. Between the head box and the hat box is a black circle that I bent and shaped to look like a hat brim then I added 1/2 inch Tear-ific tape and red glitter for the band. The snow flake is a brad that was heated and diped in clear sparkle embossing powder. The scarf is 1/2 inch Tear-ific tape covered in red glitter. ( you can find more about this technique Here) I used the 1/2 inch Tear-ific Tape to stick the boxes together.

Teal and Silver

By:Janett Ray
Janett's Stamping Place

We have three birthday's in December so I thought I should get started on these cards.

For this card I used the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge   and the color challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

I stamped the Simple Berry Branch with Versa Mark and embossed with silver embossing powder. A Spellbinder die was used to cut out the image. I colored the berry's with a BG 45 Copic marker. Then I used Brushable Glue from Sparkle N Sprinkle and covered them with teal glitter. The Happy Birthday is from the Birthday Multi Greeting it was embossed with silver embossing powder and cut with a Spellbinder die. Along the edge I used 1/8 inch Tear-ific Tape and teal glitter. For the strip I stamped part of the Open Plaid on a angle with Versa Mark Ink and embossed with silver embossing powder. Then I added 1/8 inch Tear-ific Tape and the teal glitter. It's layered onto silver paper. I punch a silver circle and used Brushable Glue on a button and covered it with the teal glitter.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Stary Night

I want to show you some more of DRS Designs new Christmas Village Stamps.

I used the Christmas Village Church   then I stamped the new Christmas Village Lamp Post  and from the new Christmas Village Four in One Accessories 2 the Victorian couple for the the snow hills I used the Sand Snow and Water Lines. The sky was air brushed and everything was colored with Copic markers. I used glitter glue and a white jell pen for stars/snow. Once I finished with the scene, I cut it out with a square die then added some layers with more square dies.

On the silver background layer I randomly stamped the Splatter background and used white embossing powder. Then I used the star from the Three Wisemen Peace and stamped it three times and embossed with white embossing powder. The blue dot in the center is Smooch. I stamped the Small Merry Christmas  with blue ink and cut it with a tag die. It's attached with foam tape. I stamped the Christmas Fence and colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. I used the ideal  of a Bindi Frame, I used the red line tape on the ends and had the middle to bow out.

For the back of the card I stamped the Share My Heart with blue ink and cut it with a square die and a layer of the silver.

Snow Storm

I made this card for the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge.

I started by stamping the Simple Snowman and covering him with a mask. Then I air brushed on BG78, B99, BV29. I removed the mask.  I colored the snowman with some Booo. Dampened a  section of Terry Cloth with Blending Soloution hold for 3 sections then move to the next section. Makes a great snow storm.

The Interlocking Snow Background  and the In the Meadow  were stamped with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers.

And here is the colors.

Have a great day,

Janett

Bling in the Holidays

Burrr, it's is cold outside this weekend a perfect day to stamp up some winter cards.

This card I started with the background paper, I saw a dress on Pinterest and I love the colors and the sparkle. I took a 4 inch by    5 1/4 white paper and ran it through the Zyron to cover it with sticky then I used three colors of glitter (white, copper, and teal) and just covered a third of the paper with each color. Then I stamped the Large Snowmama with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copic markers. Then fussy cut.

I added some clear glitter to the snowflakes on her hat. For the greeting I used Versa Mark ink and copper embossing powder and stamped the Bling In The Hoilidays. I used 1/8 inch Tear-ific tape around the edges and teal glitter.

These were attached to the front of the glitter panel. This panel was attached to a copper card. Now for the ribbon this is the coolest technique I have seen in a long time. I used 1/2 inch Tear-ific Tape. You tear of as much tape as you think you will need cover with glitter. Remove the backing from the other side and cover it with glitter. Now you have a ribbon that you can make a bow from, Here is the video were I found the technique.

And don't forget the back. The stamp that I used is Snowman Stamped By

This is the colors that I used.

Have a wonderful day,

Christmas Star

I"m back today with a new DRS designs challenge. The challenge this week is Hang it up use any image that You can hang up ( lights, ornaments, stars).

I think I took this challenge a little different than everyone else. I guess I should read these things closer, but here is what I came up with,

I have told you before how much I liked the burlap and lace look well this is my burlap and lace ornament.

I started by cutting a circle from some heavy cardboard then running it through the Xyron to cover it with adhesive, then I place a piece of burlap and rubbed so it would stick really well. I ran it back through the Xyron to make the back sticky and added the lace to the edge over the edge of the lace I used the  extra sticky tape and added a loop for hanging  then added more burlap to cove the back.

I stamped the Christmas Tree Punch Star and heat and embossed with gold.  I fussy cut the image, and ran it through the Xyron and attached it to the burlap circle.

I hope you will join us in this challenge.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Plaid - Stripes - and - Holly

Hi everyone, I hope your having a wonderful weekend. It has been beautiful here. The leaves are really showing there colors. It's my favorite time of year.

I have had the best time stamping with the new cut apart Woven Plaid stamp set. I have been making background papers to beat the band. And this is a card that I made from them.

I will start with the first layer on the red card. I used the medium strip and Memories Cherry  Red ink and stamped stripes. For the next layer I used the small strip and the Cherry Red ink and stamped on the diagonal first one way then I turned the paper and stamped across. To make the plaid background I used the wide strip and stamped on the diagonal then turned the paper and stamp across. Next I used the Medium strip and Memories Hunter Green and stamped in between the red stripes. Turned the paper and stamped across. With the smallest strip and Memento Tuxedo Black ink I stamped across the the large red stripes turned the paper and stamped across. The oval was die cut and with the paper still in the die I pierced around. Then sponged the edges with Distress Ink in Antique Linen. I stamped the Christmas Pine Oval and colored it with Copic markers. I sponged the center with the Antique Linen and used a gold pen around the the edge.  Then I fussy cut and added glitter the the pine bough. It's a lot more fun to make your on background papers. The sky is the limit.

Oh and don't forget to put a little love on the back.
The stamp is Share My Heart.

You can see more of DRS designs Hand Stamped stamps Here.

This is the Copic that I used.
