DRS designs challenge # 65 One stitch at a time

Hi all, We have new challenge over on the DRS designs Blog this week. This is going to be a fun challenge for some people. The challenge this week is Sewing on your card. Real or faux what every your style is.

I have one of those mini sewing machines that I have never used very much and I thought this would be a great opportunity. I used the Interlocking flowers and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to stamp the background, then with my mini sewing machine I stitched around the edges, well this was so crooked, I decided to add some more stitching across the middle and just go with it. I stamped the Three Flowers with Butterfly and colored it with copic markers. A Spellbinder die was used to cut out the image and the scalloped layer. I stamped the Happy Birthday and layered it onto the same background paper.

Go on over and join in the challenge. It's a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see your cards.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Sweet Blossom

Hi everyone, Yesterday I was going through the files on my computer and I found this digi image, I only have two or three digies and I had forgotten all about them. I not real sure  how I like them don’t get me wrong I love that I can make them any size just not to sure about the printer ink and copic markers. So I printed this last night and heat set it this morning and it seams to have worked pretty well.

The image is called Sweet Blossom but I don’t know who made it. After printing it on copic X press card stock I colored it with Copic markers. I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the image and did some foe stitching around the edge and adding the stitches with a brown pen. The little flowers were cut with a Spellbinder die and for the branches and leaves I used a Martha Stewart punch. The background paper that is behind the lattes die cut was stamped with a polka dot stamp and spun sugar Distress ink.

Have a Wonderful day,

Janett

Fathers Big and Small

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been posting as much in the last few weeks, they have been very stressful. A very dear friends 7 year old daughter died suddenly form a stroke. It has been so heartbreaking to watch this young family go through this horrible event. Please keep them in your prayers.

My dad is 91 years old and had cataract surgery last week, this was the first time he has ever had any kind of surgery in his life, It was not easy to get him to go. He is doing great and happy that he went through with the surgery and is ready to get his other eye fixed. It will improve his quality of life greatly.

The card that I want to share today is for my daddy. I used the Seaside Dock. To color the buildings and boat I used chalk and a Blender pen and Copics for the sky and water.  A frame was cut with a Spellbinder die. For the border strip I stamped the Argyle Background with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and used the Argyle Diamond and  Walnut Stain to fill in some of the diamonds. The sentiment is Fathers Big and Small it was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I sponged the peacock feather ink around the edges.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett
