Warm Wishes

Hi all, I hope you had a great Christmas. I had a wonderful time with family and friends. It was a gray day not to cold, but the next day the rain and wind moved in with a few snowflakes winter has come to Georgia.

For my card today I chose a winter theme. I used the DRS designs Medium Filigree Snowflake, Ice Skates, and the Warm Wishes Greeting.

For the background I tried the Twinkling H2O’s tutorial form Splitcoast Stampers. I stamped the Medium Filigree Snowflake in Versa Mark and clear Embossing Powder on white paper using Blue Ice and Periwinkle Twinkling H2O’s. The Ice Skates were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers, I used the Lables 18 Spellbinder Die to cut out the image then Blue Ice Twinkling H2O’s were used to color the background with the image still in the die. I traced around the die onto black paper and cut it out with scissors.  The Warm Wishes Greeting was stamped with black ink and the background was colored with the Twinkling H2O’s while it was still in the die. The background was layered onto black card then attached to a white card.

Stay warm and have a Happy New Year,

Winter Time Explosion Box

Hi everyone, I have become obsessed with making these Explosion Boxes. My granddaughter birthday is Friday, and we are going to give her gift to her on Thursday night so she can wear it to school on Friday. We always get her a new Christmas dress. But her party is not until Saturday, and I wanted to have a little gift to give her at her party.( she’s our only girl) I thought she would think this was fun.

I wanted to use a winter theme not to Christmas and very girly lot’s of sparkle. All the stamps are by DRS designs. I used white card stock for all the boxes. I stamped the Interlocking Snow Background in French Blue Chalk ink and embossed it with sparkle clear embossing powder, I stamped 2 of the Large Filigree Snowflake the same way and cut them out. I put a small strip of a clear Polyester sheet between the two snowflakes so it would stand up. The two smaller snowflakes are MS punches that are cover with white glitter after attaching to the box lid I added glue then flower soft and glitter. On the edge of the lid is some lt. blue boa that came from Michele’s.

For the inside I used pink and snowmen, Copics were used to color everything and lots of white and pink glitter. A MS punch was used along the edge of the box top.

For the last layer I was thinking ice and snow. A embossing folder was used on all the layers and I did sponge some blue around the edges and used a brayer to spread glitter glue over the top. The floating snowflakes are done the same as the ones on the top of the first lid. I stamped the Tree line border all the way around the small box in white and embossed with sparkly clear embossing powder. The edge of the box top is punched with a MS Icicles punch and covered with Glossy Accents. For the top I add a white satin bow and a glitter snowflake. This is the little box were her little gift will go.

I hope you like my little gift box.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Christmas Blessing

Well the decorations are up with the help of my sweet little grand children.   The shopping is almost done and I’m trying to decide what I will be cooking this holiday season. I feel that I’m off to a great start.

The edge was sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink then a spellbinder die was used to cut out the image. I used another die and cut out the red layer and sponged on some Walnut Stain Distress Ink while it was still in the die. The Christmas Blessing was stamped and sponged with Antique Linen and layered on to another red die cut and sponged with Walnut Stain. Everything was layered onto the green card and then a white card.

A sad story

I have a story to tell you today. I'm always going back and forth with myself, if I should post things that are not about stamping on my blog. But I want to share something that happened to me yesterday, that is so sad.

If you have been reading my blog you know that I have backyard chickens, that we love and have hand raised from little chicks. We have them in two different pens 3 older girls and then the little girls in there on cope.  On Wednesday morning I went out to check on my girls, only to find that on of my older girl's ( Rose) had been horrible murdered in the night. We have had a chicken to die before but nothing like this. On Thursday morning the sun was out so I let the girls out to play in the back yard at 5:00 I went to put them back in there pen's, I little girls went right in just like always, but the older girls would not go in for anything, I tried everything  even putting treats in there, but they would not go. My DH said just leave the door open and when it get's dark they will go in to roust. So after supper I went to lock the gate on the big girls pen, and they were no were to be found. After some looking I saw Hyacinth about 9 feet up on top of the little girls pen  and Daisy on top of the air conditioner, they have never done anything like this before. I felt so bad about put them back in there pen when they really did not want to be in the murder house, I have felt so bad all night for the emotional damage I may have done to them. People say chickens are not smart, will I here to tell you they are smart animals. So today i going to move them from the murder house to the little girls house, and just hope everyone gets along. Thanks for listing to my tail of woe.

This is a center step card that I can't decide if I like or not. All the stamps are by DRS designs and the image was colored with copics. O.K. now I can feel better about this being a stamping blog.
