Let's get organized

Good morning everyone I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I haven’t done any stamping yet, but I did spend some time today getting my 95 DRS designs stamps organized. I bought some Lightweight-Storage-Panels from DRS designs for only $6.50 for a package of 5 sheets. And they fit right into a 3 ring binder. I thought that I would share with you how I went about getting my stamps organized.

Step One: Call a friend, I called my stamping friend Lynn and she came over to help, makes everything a lot more fun.

Step Two: We sorted the stamps into groups, Christmas, winter, Trees, you get the ideal. The great thing about these panels is you can put stamps on both sides.

Step Three: We layed the stamps on the panel. Then we made a index sheet with the stamps the same way they were on the panel. I placed these in sheet protectors opposite the stamps. This way I can read all the stamps, and see the looks of the image. And I will always know if a Stamp is missing.

I have lots of room to add more stamps. They can be rearranged easely and the notebook fits on a shelf. I used 2 packages and some page only have a few stamp with lots of room for more.

Next I will be organizing my paper.

Have a great day,

Janett

My 2011 christmas card

Good morning everyone, hope you had a great weekend. I have been so busy, shopping is almost done and the Christmas cards are in the mail. I thought that I would share my Christmas card with you today. I have a lot of people that save my cards and use them every year to decorate. To me this is a lot of presser to make a better card every year. I don’t even have one of all my cards from the past 20 years. So I do my cards little different from what I have read. In January I have my design all picked out, then I do them assembly line style. I do about 50 cards a year and by summer the main part of the card is finished, and by Thanksgiving they are addressed and in the envelops so they can go in to the mail by the first of December.

This year I did a easel card, the stamped that I used is KT Designs Online It was stamped in black ink. The background was airbrushed with copic markers then the snowmen were colored. I added a little glitter glue to the stars in the sky. And layered it on black card then navy card. I used the Martha Steward Icicle punch and punched a strip from white card that I added across the top. I used the Martha Steward snowflake punch then covered it with glitter.
I have intered this card in the Flourishes noon time challenge.

Merry Christmas,

Have a wonderful day,

Lingering Christmas Greeting

I went a little outside the “Christmas” box on this card. I decided against the traditional reds and greens. I was actually inspired by Radio City Music Hall’s Rockettes. I went to see them last year for Christmas at the Fox Theater. They were wearing these adorable pink and green costumes! The stamp is Lingering Christmas Greeting 870HU. I used silver embossing powder on the image. I cut it out with a spellbinder oval die and layered it on another scalloped oval. I thought the pearls and silver ribbon added an elegant touch.

Thank You

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for there kind words on my Christmas Roses Box. And thank Joan's Garden for the opportunity to enter the challenge.

Glass Block Christmas

I purchased this glass block several years ago, and could not come up with how I wanted to go about decorating it, after several false starts. I finely came up with a plan.

First I stamped my image ( DRS designs Snowman and Santa) on tissue paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink then I colored the image with Copic markers. After the ink had time to dry completely. I used a light coat of Mod Podge to attach the image to the glass block. Let that dry completely. Cut a piece of double sided tape large enough to completely cove the image. Attach to block. Using tiny clear beads completely cover the tape. Then I used micro fine iridescent glitter and completely cover the image. Then I used ¼ inch Red Line Tape and made a border around the image. Cover the tape with tiny gold beads and gold glitter.
Attach the ribbon and bow around the sides. I made the poinsettia flowers using Spellbinders die.

Thanks for looking.

Have a Great Day,

Janett

Backgrounds with DRS designs

What a week I have had. We went to Helen over the weekend, it was a lot of fun we stopped at Nora’s Mill and watched them grind Grits, that was very inserting. I bought some of there grits and cooked them for breakfast this morning with our fresh eggs Oh how good it was. Tuesday we went with Emma on her field trip to Petty Creek Farm we saw Camels and Zebras not the kind of animals one would expect to see on a farm. But it was a lot of fun and spending the day with our beautiful granddaughter is always a wonderful time.

I did get a little stamping done. I was playing around with making backgrounds and I’m happy with the way they turned out. I have been eyeing the ruffled ribbon that I have been seeing on a lot of cards, so I came up with my own way of making ruffled ribbon.
For the ribbon I did a running stitch down the middle of the ribbon and gathered when I had enulf ribbon gathered I tied the thread and cut the ribbon from the spool. Them I cut a piece of cardstock ½ inch wide and 4 ¼ inch long, I stuck a strip of red line tape to the strip of paper removed the covering and adhered the ribbon to the strip letting the ends over hang. I was quite happy with the way it turned out.

For the holly background paper I cut cream cardstock to the size I wanted then stamped Holly background stamp 356H by DRS designs, then colored the leaves with copic markers, for the berries I used red Smooch. I used Antique Linen around the edges.

For the strip I stamped Four Flower Background M370 by DRS designs with walnut ink then I used the red Smooch for the berries the edges were sponged with Antique Linen.

The main image is Cardinal 856M by DRS Designs. I used a green card and matted all the layers with green cardstock.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Candy Holder

Good morning everyone. I have a cute little candy holder to share with you today. I found it over on Splitcoast and fell in love, the first thing I thought about was this would be so cute for the Elf on the shelf to bring to the Grand babies. Last year Selena was talking about how hard it was to come up with thing for Elf to be doing after so many years, so I though he could bring the kids a gift on there door. I made mine to hold a candy cane. I wish I had a Elf stamp but I did not. With all the hundreds of Christmas stamp I have no elf or a really pretty Christmas tree. If anyone knows who makes one please let me know, this problem must be addressed. Any way the Santa stamp is by Holly berry house and I don’t know who made the greeting.
Have a wonderful day,

Janett

What a day Saturday was. We were in Talking Rock, and Ethan was working with us. I just love watching this kid he is just a wonderful child. This grand parent thing is great, it is a joy to watch him.

Well to day I want to share a new card that I made with the new DRS designs just released stamps. Hope you enjoy.

Today I’m sharing DRS designs new Richly Blessed Christmas I stamped the greeting with walnut stain distress ink in the lower right hand corner of ivory card. I colored on the Pine Bough K467 stamp with markers and stamp it on the upper left corner. Antique linen was sponged around the edge and brads were add to the corners. Then I mounted it on to light green card stock. Using the Woven Plaid 613P and walnut stain and antique linen to create the plaid background on the front of a ivory card. Attach the focal image toward the bottom of the card. I punch some pine branch and added some flower soft and a red bow.
