DRS designs challenge #30 Flowers

Hello, everyone for this week the challenge at DRS designs is flowers. How easy is that, so let’s see all your beautiful flower cards.

For my card I cut a piece of white card stock with a Spellbinder square die. Then I stamped the Dogwood Branch 1092 in the center and used Copic markers to color the image. I cut a mask from a post it note of the Dogwood Branch, then I used post it’s to mask the edges of the square leaving a border. Then using the Script Font Background stamp I stamped over the image twice with black ink.  Remove the mask from the flower and with a brown prismcolor pencil  shaded around the image. Distress ink was sponged around the edges to the center, when you remove the post it’s you have a nice frame around your image.
The purple card stock was embossed with a embossing folder.

I hope you join in the challenge.

On Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day, hope everyone is having a happy day.

I have a Fathers day card for you today. I used DRS designs Frog on a Log (252H) as the main image and colored it with copic markers, I used a spellbinder die to cut out the image and to cut the green layer. The On Fathers  Day (034D) was stamped in black ink and air brushed with Copics. These were layered on a light yellow card stock then on a dark brown card stock.

To do the edging along the bottom of the yellow card I used my new Sew Ribbon (leaf) and the brown ribbon package. I love this new tool, it's something I will be using a lot.

DRS designs Challenge #29 Heavy Metal

It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for a DRS designs Challenge! The challenge this week is Heavy Metal, use all the metal that you can on your card. Come join in the fun.

For my card I use a new technique, for me anyway. I took a ¼ sheet of card stock and ran it through my Zyron, then covered it in aluminum foil. I took the foil covered card stock and embossed it in my spellbinder embossing folder (flora). I attached this to a black card. I stamped the Toadstool 405F stamp in black, Copic markers were used to color the image. A rectangle spellbinder die was used to cut out the image. The frame portion was colored with Copics. I used a xacto knife and cut out around the image and inside the frame. This was layered onto yellow card, then onto black card that was cutout with a spellbinder die. A white gel pen was used to color the spots on the Toadstool. A red strip of card stock was added and some silver brads.

I hope you get some inspiration from my card and come and join the DRS designs challenge.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Pink and White

Hi everyone, I made this card for the pink and white challenge at Joann’s Garden.

The rose stamp is one of my favorite old PSX stamps. I used Copic markers to color the image. A Spellbinder die was used to cut the square from the middle of the white card, then I used a  cuttlebug embossing folder, Swiss Dots to emboss the front. I used a smaller die and cut a square from black card to make a mat and mounted it on the back of the embossed card front. The rose was made with a spellbinder die.

canning,chickens,and cooking

We went from a beautiful weekend to a rainy Monday. This weekend I did some canning, yellow squash, and two kinds of pickles. I never canned squash before but they look nice in the jar, and this is a new pickle recipe, I hope they are good and not mushy.

We let the chickens out in the yard yesterday afternoon and they were so funny 5 of the chickens were bunched up in a pile taking a dirt bath if you look close you can see the little bantam under the bigger chickens, they stayed like this for a long time. The other  pic is of our little roster curly Bill he’s a Frizzle Cochin Bantam.

I’m still on my quest to find great zucchini recipes, I tried a new pineapple zucchini bread recipe it was OK not great more like a spice cake you could not taste the pineapple at all. But I did try one that Alex and I did like John said that he was on the fence about Italian Zucchini-Mozzarella Patties, Cheese and garlic what’s not to like.

Italian Zucchini - Mozzarella Patties

4 cups grated zucchini packed

2 large eggs beaten

1 small onion, finely chopped

½ cup all-purpose flour

2- 3 teaspoons fresh minced garlic

1/3 -½ cup grated parmesan cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon seasoning salt

1-2 teaspoon black pepper

Olive oil for frying

1. Squeeze out as much moisture from the zucchini as possible

2. Place zucchini in large bowl

3. Add all remaining ingredients except oil.

4. Mix well

5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat

6. Drop the zucchini mixture by heaping tablespoon into hot oil fry on both
    sides until golden

Well I need to get back to my stamping.

Have a wonderful day,
Janett
