Ashley gets sworn in

We went early this morning to see Ashely be sworn in to the Georgia bar. She has worked so hard for this moment that I had to go watch. Anthony held the bible for his new wife.

Tag Book

Good morning everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. Lynn came over on Saturday night and we got some stamping done and a lot of laughing.

I worked on a tag book. This was something that I have never tried before, but it was a lot of fun. I took two envelopes and taped them together so the opening was facing each other. The front was embossed with a sizzix folder. I made the flower with a spellbinder die. The tags were made from PSX stamps.

Have a wonderful day,

Backgrounds with DRS designs

What a week I have had. We went to Helen over the weekend, it was a lot of fun we stopped at Nora’s Mill and watched them grind Grits, that was very inserting. I bought some of there grits and cooked them for breakfast this morning with our fresh eggs Oh how good it was. Tuesday we went with Emma on her field trip to Petty Creek Farm we saw Camels and Zebras not the kind of animals one would expect to see on a farm. But it was a lot of fun and spending the day with our beautiful granddaughter is always a wonderful time.

I did get a little stamping done. I was playing around with making backgrounds and I’m happy with the way they turned out. I have been eyeing the ruffled ribbon that I have been seeing on a lot of cards, so I came up with my own way of making ruffled ribbon.
For the ribbon I did a running stitch down the middle of the ribbon and gathered when I had enulf ribbon gathered I tied the thread and cut the ribbon from the spool. Them I cut a piece of cardstock ½ inch wide and 4 ¼ inch long, I stuck a strip of red line tape to the strip of paper removed the covering and adhered the ribbon to the strip letting the ends over hang. I was quite happy with the way it turned out.

For the holly background paper I cut cream cardstock to the size I wanted then stamped Holly background stamp 356H by DRS designs, then colored the leaves with copic markers, for the berries I used red Smooch. I used Antique Linen around the edges.

For the strip I stamped Four Flower Background M370 by DRS designs with walnut ink then I used the red Smooch for the berries the edges were sponged with Antique Linen.

The main image is Cardinal 856M by DRS Designs. I used a green card and matted all the layers with green cardstock.

Have a wonderful day,

I stamped the Vertical Triple Tree 876H and embossed in gold on gold paper. Then layered on brown card stock. For the background I used a cream card and the Silhouette Branch H363 and embossed in gold.

Candy Holder

Good morning everyone. I have a cute little candy holder to share with you today. I found it over on Splitcoast and fell in love, the first thing I thought about was this would be so cute for the Elf on the shelf to bring to the Grand babies. Last year Selena was talking about how hard it was to come up with thing for Elf to be doing after so many years, so I though he could bring the kids a gift on there door. I made mine to hold a candy cane. I wish I had a Elf stamp but I did not. With all the hundreds of Christmas stamp I have no elf or a really pretty Christmas tree. If anyone knows who makes one please let me know, this problem must be addressed. Any way the Santa stamp is by Holly berry house and I don’t know who made the greeting.
Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Something new from DRS designs

What a day Saturday was. We were in Talking Rock, and Ethan was working with us. I just love watching this kid he is just a wonderful child. This grand parent thing is great, it is a joy to watch him.

Well to day I want to share a new card that I made with the new DRS designs just released stamps. Hope you enjoy.

Today I’m sharing DRS designs new Richly Blessed Christmas I stamped the greeting with walnut stain distress ink in the lower right hand corner of ivory card. I colored on the Pine Bough K467 stamp with markers and stamp it on the upper left corner. Antique linen was sponged around the edge and brads were add to the corners. Then I mounted it on to light green card stock. Using the Woven Plaid 613P and walnut stain and antique linen to create the plaid background on the front of a ivory card. Attach the focal image toward the bottom of the card. I punch some pine branch and added some flower soft and a red bow.

Flourishes

Happy Monday morning I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had the best time. On Saturday afternoon Lynn came over and we were stamping away. Then Pete and Sassy came and we all went on the hay ride at Yahoo farm to see Alex Perform, he was great a he all ways. After the hay ride we went through the corn maze it was a lot of fun walking around in the dark with flashlights.
This is the card that Lynn worked on. It is a Flourishes stamp, with Smooch on the berries. I just love this card.

What a Week

Good morning everyone. This has been a week of really great highs and very low lows. First our Cat (Melvin) that we have had for 11 years has dispersed we don’t know what has happened to her I so wish she would come home.
Then I got some really good news my stamps arrived from DRS Designs and I spent Tuesday stamping and getting my cards ready, I can’t wait to start sharing them.
Then this morning another disappointment I had applied for the Heartfelt Creations design team and I did get it, Oh well there will be other opportunities. This is one of the cards I made for the heartfelt design team, thought that I would share with you now.
It’s a easel card and I use the stamp Snowy Swirl, and Snowflake Medallion, and a Encore Stamp Pad in Silver.

Heartfelt Creations Snowy Swirl
Heartfelt Creations Snowflake Medallions pre cut set
Heartfelt Creations Snowy Swirl and Seasons Greetings
Heartfelt Creations Holly Leaves and Ornament Die
Encore stamp pad: Silver
Brilliance stamp pad: Graphite black
Martha Stewart blue sapphire glitter
White card stock, blue card stock, blue patterned paper
Recollections Adhesive Rhinestones
Glue
Double sided tape
Foam dots
Hole punch (1/8 in)
Hole punch (½ in)
White string
Stamp small Snowflake Medallions 6 times on white card in silver ink. Cut out with the Heartfelt Creations Holly Leaves and Ornament Die. Add small dots of glue to stamped medallions. Add glitter and set aside to dry. Using the ½ in punch, punch a circle from white paper. Cover in glue and then glitter. Set aside to dry. Cut a piece of white card stock to 4 ¼ x 4 ¼. Cut another piece to 4 ¼ x 8 ½. Score at 4 ¼ and 6 ¼. Fold the 4 ¼ inch score in a mountain fold and the 6 ¼ inch score in a valley fold. Attach the 4 ¼ x 4 ¼ square to the small flap. Cut a piece of blue card stock to 4 1/8 x 4 1/8. Stamp Snowy Swirl in Silver ink on the blue card. It is okay if the stamp goes over the edge of the cardstock. Attach the blue square to the white square. To make the rosette: Cut a 1 x 12 inch strip from the blue patterned paper. Score every ¼ inch. Fan fold. Using the 1/8 inch hole punch, punch holes in the top of each pair of folds. Take care that all of the holes are the same distance from the top edge of the paper. (If you own a Crocodile punch, you can punch through more layers at a time.) Thread a string through the holes. Tie tightly. Tape ends of the paper together to form ring. Using even spacing, attach the tip of each glittered medallion on a foam dot to form a snowflake. Glue the glittered circle in the center of the snowflake. Attach the snowflake with foam dots to the rosette. Attach the rosette in the upper left corner of the blue card with a foam dot. Attach 3 rhinestones in the opposite corner. Cut a piece of blue card stock to 4 1/8 x 1 7/8. Cut a piece of white card stock to 4 x 1 ¾. Stamp the Snowy Swirl in silver ink on the white card. Stamp the sentiment in black ink over the top of the silver. Attach the white card to the blue. Add three rhinestones to the left edge of the white piece. Attach to the bottom of card.
