From the garden

Hello everyone, hope your week is going well. I have done a little stamping this week, and a lot of work in the garden. We planted some grape vines at the top of the garden I so hope that they will grow, I got them a BJ’s for $1.99, so if they don’t grow it’s no great loss and I will get some better ones next year. I also want to plant some raspberries and some blackberries.  I have started getting squash, zucchini, and cumbers this week it has made for some wonderful meals. We have had fried squash, zucchini fries these were a big hit. And zucchini blueberries bread that is some good stuff.  It went fast and John wanted me to make some more and he thought that it would be good with strawberries so I have some in the oven now. It smells so good. I wanted to share the recipe that I use hope you give it a try, and let me know how you like it.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

3 eggs, Lightly beaten 1 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Vegetable oil 1 teaspoon Baking powder
3 teaspoons Vanilla extract ¼ teaspoon soda
2 ¼  cups  white sugar            1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 cups zucchini 1 pint fresh blueberries
3 cups all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Lightly grease 4 mini-loaf pans.

In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, oil, vanilla, and sugar. Fold in the zucchini. Beat in flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Gently fold in the blueberries. Transfer to the prepared mini-loaf pans.

Bake 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes in pans, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.

I use to regular bread pans and bake 1 hour 20 minutes.

Have a wonderful day,

Hopping Birthday

Good Morning. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Today I want to share a fun new stamp from DRS designs. The Frog on a log252H, and the soon to be released stamp Hears Hopping Birthday . I just love these stamps.

For my card I used the wax paper resist technique for the background. You use glossy card stock, cut to size that you will need. I sponged the card stock with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Take a piece of wax paper and wrinkle it as much as you want. Lay it on top of your glossy card stock then I covered it with a clean piece of  paper. With a hot iron, iron the sandwich lightly, not for to long. Remove the glossy card. Then I sponged Peeled Paint Distress Ink over the entire card.

I stamped the cute Frog on a log 252H onto white paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut a cloud mask and used my air brush to spray the sky. Then I used my trusty copic marker to color the image. On another piece of white card stock I stamped the Hopping Birthday with the Tuxedo black ink then I used a rectangle spellbinder die and cut the image out, keeping the image in the die I sponged peeled paint Distress ink. Both images were layered onto dark brown card stock. I layered the background paper onto dark brown card. Then wrapped jute string around and tied a bow. This was attached to a light green card. The frog image was pop up and the greeting was attached to the card front.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Tri-Shutter Card

Hello everyone. Hope your week is going well. Today I want to share a mothers day card, to be honest most of the time I just buy mothers day cards. My mother left me over 20 years ago and I still miss her every day. But this year I wanted to make my mother in law a nice card she has always been so good to me.

The card I chose to make is a Tri -Shutter Card. I have been looking at these cards for a while, there is a very good tutorial on Split coast. I used a pale green for the card base and a light green floral as the first layer, I used a gold pen on each of the panels. The magnolia stamp is by PSX, and on mothers day is by DRS designs.

This card was a lot of fun, it did take some time to decide how I want the lay out to be. But I’m happy with my first try. Let me know what you think, and if you have tried the Tri-Shutter Card.

And I have some more news the Explosion Box Card was chosen as a weekly favorite on Split coast Stampers. This was very exciting, I was very honored.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Explosion Box Card

Wow! What a week it has been. I finely got some time to stamp on Friday, and I’m so happy with the way this turned out. It’s not a card. It’s a explosion box card. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I used a pattern for the explosion box and decorated it inside and out. First I cut white paper to layer on the bottom and sides. I used my airbrush and sprayed them with copic colors G28& B28. The edges were embossed with gold embossing powder, a DRS designs stamp Girl Swirl was stamped and embossed in gold. I stamped and embossed the butterflies on 65# Translucent Vellum Cover. I colored them with Twinkling H2o’s. I cut them out with scissors shaped the wings and used pop dot’s to attach the butterflies to the side panels.

The greeting  was stamped onto white card and layered onto purple. I taped it on three sides so a surprise could be tucked in the pocket.

The flower was cut out with a Spellbinder die from the 65# Vellum and I used the Twinkling H2o’s to add color.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Janett
